TOPTEAM has recently worked with the Biomedical Engineering department of the National Cheng Kung University in two workshops focused on patent search strategy and patent claim drafting.
The techniques shared and ideas discussed during the workshops are particularly useful for researchers to better understand the value of their research in terms of patenting new ideas. Each workshop, delivered as part of a graduate school course “Innovative Medical Device Patent and Regulatory Strategy management”, includes a 3 hour lecture and a following 3 hour group exercise session.

國立成功大學生物醫學工程所本學期開設《創新醫材專利與法規策略管理》課程，邀請本所專利師林台聖到校授課，就申請專利前期兩個核心工作：專利檢索策略、及專利撰寫範圍分析，提供完整介紹與實務練習指引，相關技巧尤其能幫助學生判斷自身發明有無申請專利的價值。
這門課程開設對象為碩博士班學生，今年修課學生除本地學生外，也有高比例的外籍生，來自越南、馬來西亞、泰國等多國。其背景涵蓋不同科別，包含醫生、生物技術及工程科系。

相較於台灣商標申請實務上，往往會建議客戶選擇較上位概念之規範名稱，以擴大商標保護範圍；而USPTO則傾向指定商品名稱必須符合一定程度之說明，避免有心人士惡意搶註類似商標於相似商品類別，侵害真正商標權人之商標權。
Mr. Kenny 亦談及美國商標電子申請系統（Trademark Electronic Application System, TEAS）申請流程，並分析比較該系統中三種提交方式（TEAS PLUS, TEAS Reduced Fee，以及TEAS Regular）在費用及申請流程之差異與特色。

2018年11月7日德國PATENTSHIP 事務所主持律師Dr. Robert Klinski 受邀至本所， 就EPO（歐洲專利局）目前審查績效制度對歐洲專利審查的影響，發表主題講座，並就實務上可能遭遇的問題，分享其多年累積的專業經驗。
On November 7, Dr. Robert Klinski, the Managing Director of PATENTSHIP Patentanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, was invited to share his observation on how EPO’s internal KPI system might have impacted the European Application Process and Result. He also gave applicants and agents valuable advice on how to avoid unwanted situations during the process.
